Meet the Team

Leadership Team:

Martin (Key Leader) & Ruth Turnbull, Mike (Elder) & Georgina Jones and Eddie (Elder) & Sonia Godoy

Martin has been the key leader of New Pastures Church since the year 2000. Martin & Ruth were married in 1988 and have three children, all studying at either college or university while Ruth is a Teaching Assistant at a local primary school.

Mike & Georgina have been at New Pastures since 2004. Mike works in the IT Department of a large Builders Merchants while Georgina is a Teaching Assistant at a local primary school. They married in 1989 and have three grown-up children; Craig, Chloe and Naomi.

Eddie & Sonia have been involved at New Pastures Church for over 22 years. They were born and married in Chile and came to England in the late 1970’s. They moved to Northampton in 1984 and have 4 grown up daughters. Eddie is currently a prison officer, based in the Crown Court of Northampton while Sonia works for a Spanish company based in Northampton as a Sales Coordinator in the U.K.

Youth Leaders: Les and Shan Goodridge

Les & Shan came to New Pastures Church in 2001 and very quickly got involved in the youth work of the church. They have been married since 1980 and have 2 daughters. Les works for the civil service while Shan is an infection prevention nurse. Both were involved in the vision and setting up of Livewire and are actively engaged in the youth group NRG.

Deacon: Ron & Mavis Thompson

Although Ron was formally recognised as a Deacon in September 2007 both he and Mavis have served the church since the early 1980’s.
Ron & Mavis were married in 1969 whilst attending Bible college and have three grown up children and four grandchildren. They both work at NAYC ‘s Kings Park headquarters – Ron in the accounts department and Mavis as Domestic Supervisor.

Worship Co-Ordinator: Crawford & Jean Lindsay

Crawford is the worship co-ordinator for New Pastures Church. He has been leading the worship team for 20+ years. He recently stepped down from the role of elder within the church after serving about 23 years in that capacity. Crawford has been married to Jean since 1978 and they have two grown up children, one daughter who now lives in Sheffield and a son who currently attends Dartington College. As well as his passion for music Crawford has a passion for the youth of the church and surrounding area; he and Jean were instrumental in the setting up and running of Livewire. They are also both leading the the year 9+ group at Brilliant Bible Club.

Fundraising Officer: Jim O’Rourke

Jimmy and Sharon were members of the church in the 80s but moved away following their marriage in 1991. They returned to the Church in 2007 and were quick to get actively involved. Jimmy is a former local authority housing officer who after retiring due to ill health, completed a degree course in Criminology at the University of Northampton. He and Sharon are both active fundraisers and Jimmy recently received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services in recognition of his service to Thorplands United Football Club. Sharon recently completed a six mile run around Northampton in aid of ‘BBC Sport Relief’.
Jimmy and Sharon are both involved with our activities at Turn Furlong Respite Care Home and Jimmy was recently appointed Fundraising Officer for New Pastures Church.
